Thesis Symposium | Thursday 23 January | QUB, David Keir Building, Belfast

The 2014 Architectural Thesis symposium will be held on Thursday 23rd January at Queens University Belfast.

Thesis Symposium 2014

Now in its third year this day long event seeks to discuss the role and value of the thesis to architectural culture generally and will include presentations from graduates of seven schools of architecture as well as contributions from practitioners and educators. Last year over 250 students attended and the event proved invaluable for many in the building of contacts between the schools and sharing of advice and ideas about the challenges and fruits of this body of work.

Entry is free and all are welcome. The event will be of particular value to students in their final or penultimate year of formal study.

The symposium will take place in the David Kier Building, Stranmillis Road, Belfast, BT95AG.

After ten years on Fountain Street, PLACE is on the move.

After ten years on Fountain Street, PLACE is on the move.

2013 was a massive year for PLACE. With new additions to the team and a growing portfolio of projects, it's time to move to new premises.

Former premises: 40 Fountain Street, Belfast

As we prepare to open our new venue in early 2014, we’ll be making use of temporary office space at 11 Rosemary Street, Belfast, BT1 1QF.

We're currently putting the finishing touches to our Spring 2014 programme, when we’ll continue to raise awareness of architecture, design, and planning - working with communities across Northern Ireland to shape better places to live, work and play for everyone.

Temporary premises: 11 Rosemary Street, Belfast

We want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to our supporters, volunteers, and friends of PLACE. We're looking forward to seeing you at our new premises and at PLACE events across Northern Ireland throughout 2014.

If you want to keep track of our move and hear more about plans for 2014 and our new place, visit placeni.org, and follow us on Facebook & Twitter.
