Walking Tour of Bangor's Built Heritage | Sun 4 Aug

On Sunday 4th August Ian McQuiston and Joe Drew, current and former Chairmen of FABB (For a Better Bangor), will lead a walking tour of Bangor's built heritage. The tour is part of the Open House Festival 2013.

Following in the footsteps of Columbanus, the tour travels from the Abbey to the Long Hole, tracing the town’s Christian beginnings through to its zenith in Victorian and Edwardian period. Experience the changing face of Bangor and enjoy the many fine buildings, including the Town Hall, churches, banks, hotels and the unique Post Office. Appreciate the restored Walled Garden and imaginative reuse of the Harbour Master’s building. Learn about Charles Lanyon's railway station, discuss the future of the vacant Courthouse, and debate the future possibilities for Queen’s Parade and the former Leisure Centre site.

Date: Sunday 4th August
Time: 7 - 9pm
Location: Car Park opposite Bangor Bus & Train Station
Tickets: £5 each. Click Here to book.
