Artists-in-residence Open Call | Writers and Photographers
Artists-in-Residence Open Call
somewhereto_NI are delighted to offer two artist-in-residence opportunities in the fields of writing and photography.
The residencies are open to 18-25 year-olds, and will be based in Bangor, Co. Down as part of somewhereto_re:store, a youth-led takeover of an empty shop for a six-week period.
The campaign will showcase young people’s ideas to the crisis at the core of our communities and give them the chance to inject their natural energy, ideas and entrepreneurialism into our struggling high streets.
The residencies are an opportunity for early-career artists to engage with this issue through documenting the efforts of their peers to reanimate an unused high street space.
As a UK-wide campaign, somewhereto_re:store will provide an excellent platform for the artists-in-residence to reach a wider audience. Their work will also be integrated into a research campaign exploring the regeneration of town centres being led by PLACE Built Environment Centre, which will provide opportunities for publication and exhibition.
Artists-in-residence will have travel and other expenses covered for the duration of their residency.
